The pardon power is the single greatest tool available to correct injustices – but too often, governors who use this power are met with controversy.  Advised by former governors and staffers, the Clemency Institute works closely with state executives from both sides of the aisle to provide high-level legal, strategic, and communications support around clemency.  Our goal is to make pardons and other acts of clemency expected, not exceptional.
